Reiki Sessions

What is Reiki and what is a session like?

Reiki is an ancient healing system with roots in Japan. The word Reiki translates as (Rei) which means “Universal Life”, and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is intelligent, life force energy.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free-flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress in our bodies* and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.

*refers to our physical body, emotional body, spiritual body & even our etheric body or spirit.

Who Can Benefit?

Reiki can be used for general wellness as well as for specific issues. Reiki works by assisting to reduce stress, which in turn may create an environment within your body where healing may more easily be facilitated. Problems related to excess tension build up and chronic pain can be addressed. In addition, Reiki may be effective with people who suffer from chronic headaches, insomnia, and problems of fatigue.

Many women find Reiki to be a wonderful tool to help with side effects during pregnancy, during childbirth, and afterward.  Some have found help with infertility after receiving Reiki treatments.

Reiki is sometimes used as an adjunct to certain medical conditions on the recommendation of a physician or other healthcare provider (e.g., high blood pressure, anxiety, or stress). Others find relief with side effects during cancer treatments.

How is a session with Beth structured?

A first session generally lasts 1 hour 15 minutes but could go as long as 1 hr 30 minutes.  For children and animals, less time is generally needed. Contact me for pricing.

In person, you will either be seated or lying down. You remain fully clothed. I then begin to transmit Reiki through my hands while moving down your body. I adjust the time spent in each area. Most people report feeling tingling, or a flow within themselves ranging from subtle to powerful. Some people will not feel much, but everyone has said they feel more relaxed and grounded. Every visit can be different, and the intention is that you receive what you need at that time.

There’s nothing you need to know about Reiki to prepare your first appointment, but questions are always welcome.
